"Audience – Services’ Consumer or
Strategic Partner of Cultural Institution?"

INTERSTUDIO and St. Petersburg Branch of the Theatre Union of Russia with support of the Ministry of Culture of Russia co-host international conference "Audience – Services’ Consumer or Strategic Partner of Cultural Institution?"

This event continues a series of conferences under the general title Yufit Assemblies on the current issues of cultural and arts management.

The major goal of the conference is to study elements of the cultural sphere and processes of their interaction and mutual influence with focus at audience as a key component of this system.

Following topics are expected to be discussed on the plenary sessions and round tables during the conference:

• Role of audience in development of the market relationships in cultural sphere, audience – consumer of cultural services;
• Influence of audience on the development of the artistic policy of organization and cultural policy of city/region;
• Forms of audience development for different cultural institutions: universal and specific;
• Trireme: artistic self expression – satisfaction of audience demand – process of audience development.

We invite to take part and contribute to the conference representatives of the cultural and arts institutions; Russian and foreign researches; creators; governmental cultural officers; specialists in the cultural education; others, interested in the theme.

History:

In December 2002 INTERSTUDIO launched the long-term project under the general title The Yufit Assemblies. The project is devoted to the memory of Anatoly Yufit (1925-1978) – the famous theatre researcher. In 1968 he founded the program on the professional theatre management education. That was the first arts management educational program in the country and one of the first in the world.

Pursuing the traditions of Anatoly Yufit, INTERSTUDIO develops this project in the form of the seminars, master-classes, students’ and professionals’ exchange and other co-operative actions.

The core event, held under the title of the Yufit Assembly, is the annual international conference, which is aimed at the exchange of the Russian and world experience on the burning issues of the today’s cultural life.
